Home for the Holidays

I'm a United States Soldier
I don't ask for much,
Just your prayers and cards
To keep my emotions in touch

God is my life inside my core
Outside I fight to put an end to this war

Each one will tell you with pride in his voice
I fight for my country this life is my choice

And so it is I wonder and can't help but ask
How many have chose Freedom to be their personal task

The holidays will come with so many missed
But not forgotten from Santa's "good" list

Its not
Christmas without your loved one's near
Home for the Holidays is their silent cheer

May God watch over and protect you in distant lands
You are my hero, my heart; from your number one fan
