Militant Courage

They sign a contract to become a man.

They sign a contract to grow old before their time, to see the reflection of a 18 yr old man in the mirror 40 years post war, reflecting the faces of fallen friends gone before their time.

These are the men that commit there life to the price of freedom, never unwavering, never really sure, always standing tall, saluting.

These men do what they are told, stand behind the courage, old enough to kill yet unsure of the future, how to pay a mortgage, or how to hold a woman.

These are brothers, sons, husbands, dads, lovers, and children born to fight, born to believe born never to stray.

Never wavering from freedom, standing tall behind the national anthem, tearing up at the thought of a God more powerful than war.

These are our brave, our scared, our militant courageous.
